Blu been doing the rounds lately, like he seems to; the internuts get their taste for a week or two then he does his Keyser Soze impersonation. Well he just lent a sweet 16 to ANTHM’s track “Polaris” and now he’s let go the visuals for his track “K E E P U S H I N N” off of the release NoYork!. Its a bit of an animated mind fuck; enjoy, I did.
I (@bjones21) have been spending the last few weeks here at @Social8gency putting together this show and I want everyone in LA, shit Cali and lets add Nevada and Mexico for good measure to make it out on December 29, 2011 to The FreQ Show. This gem came courtesy of the good folks at Hypetrak. Reportedly Blu was dropping copies of the album on the crowd at Rock The Bells this year (my ticket must have gotten lost in the mail), I ain’t bitter though I was gonna buy it anyway. Support Support!
There are also rumors of a No York! download link floating around the web, but I’ll let you deal with that in your own way. I support mine.
Blu continues to ramp it up as the release of No York! approaches. Blu just dropped Jesus to his bandcamp page, its $10 so its none of that free stuff just real hip hop. Pick it up here &/or listen below.
I’ve said this before, new Blu is always good Blu. This just dropped and I’m doing my best to drop it on of ya’ll. This is slated to be on his upcoming and highly anticipate album No York! Can’t Wait.
Some fresh new Blu, as he gears up for the release of his anticipated NoYork! Blu keeps it LA, as he treats us with a track with the unmistakable voice of Jack Davey and the undeniable production from Flying Lotus.
Over beers and burgers, one of my dudes asked me, since I am I guess in the industry, to put him on some new hip hop for him to check out. He’s aware of the J. Coles of the world but looking for something else. So this is what I came up with on the fly for shit I’ve been bumping for the past 2 months.
So I bring you Woofer Syrup; not everything on here will be by new artists, but I promise that I think at least most of it will be dope, and that if you have a problem with that kiss my ass and shoot me suggestions.
Each month a new 10, and not strictly hip hop. These are scoured from across the landscape of freely released music, but if artist A, B, and/or C have a problem with their track being posted here, get at me: Brock@social8gency.com.
share and share alike. Take it a la carte below OR right-click & savethis.
I really don’t think there is an active artist that I can truly say I love and hate like Blu. The Kanye’s of the world have become purely caricatures of human beings so my attitude towards them is no different than Snooki; my consternation goes as soon as the incident is over – just entertain me.
With Blu he to me is the true leader of this loosely connected NeWest movement in hip hop, complimented by TiRon, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick Lamar, OFWGKTA, Casey Veggies, PacDiv, and others. His mic skills are impeccable, he’s slowly becoming a accomplished producer, and his lyrics are not of the inaccessible sort. He kills every track he’s on! Problem is he just needs to be on more tracks.
Well this week a few prayers have been answered, a few days after appearing on the stellar “In” from HomeBaseNYC‘s Live At The Clubhouse MixTape(with two other personal faves Freddie Gibbs & Homeboy Sandman), Blu drops his 7 track Amnesia EP, click the pic to buy. Now all I need is No York!
HerFavColor posted this last night to his tumblr and twitter just over 15 hours ago. I found out about Blu when Below The Heavens dropped and haven’t found anyone yet whom I patiently await a release.
