This gem came courtesy of the good folks at Hypetrak. Reportedly Blu was dropping copies of the album on the crowd at Rock The Bells this year (my ticket must have gotten lost in the mail), I ain’t bitter though I was gonna buy it anyway. Support Support!

There are also rumors of a No York! download link floating around the web, but I’ll let you deal with that in your own way. I support mine.

Two arguably GOATs at work here. Coming off Common’s upcoming The Believer which is hopefully set to move major units. Featuring Nas, who in his own right has been making solid moves lately from Distant Relatives to Raekwon collabs. Can’t wait for this to drop.

When I first ran across this on Jay-Z’s Life and Times site, I was both drawn to the concept of immortalizing such an apparatus of music history and also thinking “Don’t all boom boxes look the same though?” I may have been born in the 80s, but started paying attention in the 90s; so I’m of the walkman era and boom boxes just weren’t an everyday occurrence.

Having looked through a few pages and the video below tis crazy some of the styles that were put out back in the day; and that for most part they are just going to go to waste. So shout outs are in order for Lyle Owerko for his collection and putting together this fantastic book.

Now known as The Throne, Jay Z & Kanye West have announced the tour dates for their joint tour on the back of their upcoming Watch The Throne joint album. Hitting the road 2 weeks after the album drops (Aug. 8th), The Throne seems to want to get an early start on the back of their album. Featuring a perfectly placed sample of Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness” the two go in on some old school hip hop shit; trading verses, playing off each other’s words, just hip hop in a pure form, and they’re stunting all the way through. swag.

I just got my copy of Theophilus’ debut Timesz Are Weird These Days and it is fucking stellar. “Girls Girls $” is one of the many standout tracks on the album and its fitting it gets the video treatment, though wasn’t expecting this by any means. It’s just insanity, so I’ll let Theophilus tell it:

This video was built on the hype and importance of the internet. NYC legends and hotspots, twitter personalities, quotes and everything hyped weather good or bad. I was intrigued by this character my friend Ben Solomon had on his avatar and approached him via twitter and email to talk about a concept. He came over an we sketched out a few things and brainstormed. This is the modern day Waldo. Can u spot anyone? #isityou?
