One half of the brothers Thornton, Pusha T, links up with Nardwuar out at this year’s SXSW 2013; I was hoping from more on this, though Nardwuar does hit on some nice gems. check it out below.

Justin continues his modern Michael Jackson game with the visuals for “Suit & Tie”. No shade thrown his way, he’s super talented but the falsetto & the production techniques on many of his hits are straight takes from MJ & his various production partners, and his solid homage with the white socks. Anyway though it also appears Justin drops in touches of Frank Sinatra with the visuals and the classic class look permeating his recent appearances; we’ll see if it catches on with the public as its been attempted (R. Kelly has his fingers crossed).

All that said I’m a fan of the track unlike many others who were lukewarm on its arrival; I will have to agree with the masses there better be a pop/dance banger hidden somewhere in the upcoming album. Please don’t steer us one way and then leave us not fully satisfied (I see you Usher).

So this would have to officially go down as my first favorite thing of the new year. BBC’s Radio 1 linked up with DJ Benji B & composer Grant Windsor to put together a fantastic string ensemble accompanied mix of dance and hip hop of the past few years.

Its 52 minutes well spent.

Fresh new [e aka Cloudeater for everyone’s ears. This time they link up with DC & MMG’s Wale to release “Faces”.

Released this morning as an exclusive via Jay Z’s Life+Times, hopefully that sorta platform gives [e a bigger profile; they are a band with a bright future.  Further more on this track they were able to get Wale back on his shit, not that MMG Wale is bad, but I feel its content and style hasn’t given him a chance to shine and express why he was so hot a few years ago in the first place.

Frank Ocean’s bit of subversive disillusionment with the industry, though can be said about all artists when the line between content, commerce, and passion collide. A definite pop track with some slamming keys, which seems to emphasize every moment when Frank bites back at the industry.

Now known as The Throne, Jay Z & Kanye West have announced the tour dates for their joint tour on the back of their upcoming Watch The Throne joint album. Hitting the road 2 weeks after the album drops (Aug. 8th), The Throne seems to want to get an early start on the back of their album. Featuring a perfectly placed sample of Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness” the two go in on some old school hip hop shit; trading verses, playing off each other’s words, just hip hop in a pure form, and they’re stunting all the way through. Well Beyonce just blew my mind again with the video for her track “Girls” (Who Run The World). Intense visuals and she brings out some very Michael Jackson inspired moves in this joint.
