One of the most interesting cats in music right now is Thundercat; I guess like the name may imply, he’s an agile force of nature seamlessly moving from rocking bass for Erykah Badu, to Suicidal Tendencies, to lacing FlyLo, and ultimately keeping a bit of virtuosity to himself on his solo debut Brainfeeder debut The Golden Age of Apocolypse. Needless to say I’m a fan and now the album has some visuals to bring you around to the sound . . . well sort of. Look out for cameos from LA’s finest as well as hilarity for those that follow FlyLo, ‘Cat, and Japanese cartoon – absolutely hilarious.
It’s difficult telling anyone how I feel about J*Davey, cuz it seems their music is so particular sometimes. Its seriously been 50/50 for those that I expose to them, either love or hate; I love. They just released their 11 track LP New Designer Drug today for the recession friendly price of $2.99. Head over to their J*Davey Official page to pick it up. But if you’re foolishly still trying to decide stream it below.
I saw them perform this live at The Key Club before their brief absence to finish the album and cuz Jack was rocking out while in her 3rd Trimester (Hardest Working Pregnant Woman in Entertainment!). At the show it brought the house down.
This gem came courtesy of the good folks at Hypetrak. Reportedly Blu was dropping copies of the album on the crowd at Rock The Bells this year (my ticket must have gotten lost in the mail), I ain’t bitter though I was gonna buy it anyway. Support Support!
There are also rumors of a No York! download link floating around the web, but I’ll let you deal with that in your own way. I support mine.
J*Davey have been inn front of me for years now, and definitely a duo that need a larger presence in music cuz they’re cranking our top notch genre fucking material. It’s undeniable. I saw them last night at The Key Club and the infatuating Jack Davey made the stage her own, and she is well into her second trimester – the hardest working pregnant woman in the world right there.
I’ve said this before, new Blu is always good Blu. This just dropped and I’m doing my best to drop it on of ya’ll. This is slated to be on his upcoming and highly anticipate album No York! Can’t Wait.
