Stones Throw keeps some freshness coming and team with startup Drip.fm, on a subscription service. The concept seems simple enough – Give your fans an easy avenue to your label’s collection and on time, in a simple way. Not much is known about how this will come to pass, but Drip.fm appears to be on the right track:

J*Davey have been inn front of me for years now, and definitely a duo that need a larger presence in music cuz they’re cranking our top notch genre fucking material. It’s undeniable. I saw them last night at The Key Club and the infatuating Jack Davey made the stage her own, and she is well into her second trimester – the hardest working pregnant woman in the world right there.
Frank Ocean’s bit of subversive disillusionment with the industry, though can be said about all artists when the line between content, commerce, and passion collide. A definite pop track with some slamming keys, which seems to emphasize every moment when Frank bites back at the industry.
With Thursday coming soon The Weeknd lets loose a track expected to make the cut on one of his two mixtapes to hit in the months to come. Check it out below or head to his Youtube page, here.
As the mystery of The Weeknd unravels this comes through the bay door. Previously in his career The Weeknd, Abel Tesfaye, was part of Canadian production team The Noise. The tracks below are from that period in his career, though perhaps not over yet, he is definitely taking on a greater presence as The Weeknd.
As the story goes, the track “Birthday Suit” is/was a demo for Drake; we’ll see if some version of it pops up on Drake’s follow up Take Care. Also look out for 2 more mixtapes by The Weeknd to follow up his outstanding R&B kick in the balls House of Balloons, the first of which title Thursday coming soon.
Odd Future affiliate Frank Ocean just released the video for “Acura Integurl” though not coming off nostalgia, ULTRA this is a fresh track nonetheless. Scoop this off of the 63 track Lonny Breaux Tape floating out there. If he can get one together for “Swim Good” & “Novacane” I’d give him my first born.
Well Beyonce just blew my mind again with the video for her track “Girls” (Who Run The World). Intense visuals and she brings out some very Michael Jackson inspired moves in this joint.
In a day where the R&B landscape is dominated by soft spoken potentially DL brothers like Trey Songz, The Dream, and Jay Sean, its sad that it takes a death to remind us that R&B used to have some balls. There is something interesting to be said about a man, through song, telling women he is going to give them everything they want but also take what he desires.
